4th of July Firework on the Hudson River
Very impressive 40 min 4th of July firework (view on You Tube!) from six simultaneous firing barges on the Hudson River over Manhattan – the biggest one I’ve ever seen!
Private Fireworks picnic on the floating dock of the boathouse of the Manhattan Kayak Company: Biff Wruszek, Margaret Mann, Joe Glickman, myself, two local paddling ladys (sorry I didn’t get your names), Eric Stiller
One more…

This is such a nice relaxed pic after our Manhattan circumnavigation (sorry Margaret is missing, she was teaching already kayak polo that night after the day’s paddle, being a former member of the kayak polo US team - a little energy bunny…)
Midnight in Manhattan
Not too bad, the view from the Empire State Building eventually at midnight…Biff and I climbed up in a really moderate tourist queue, but still taking 1,5 hrs to get in and up to the 86th floor with the outside viewing platform – and it was still 30 degrees hot. Easy to suffocate in New York City’s summer heat, especially down in the streets gorges of Manhattan…Central Park was an oasis in the noise, heat and smog.
Manhattan Circumnavigation
Nano from Argentina (Argentinian coastline), Biff Wruszek (Tierra de la Fuego 2010), Margaret Mann (Iceland 2009) and I circumnavigated Manhattan on Friday. It was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot and good winds. Just ideal conditions for a kayak tourist!
OZ Slideshow in New York
Thanks to Randall Henriksen (New York Kayak Company) and employee John to organize my talk in Manhattan.
Two happy Ladys in Black in front of the fading Manhattan night skyline: New York based British Expedition Paddler Biff Wruszek gave me the honor to join my talk! It was a pleasure to meet you, Biff!
