Sat 24/11-2012 Day 339

Some rodent was chewing his way at night through the inner tent up to our German style bread!

Pos: here
Loc: Punta Salinas
Acc: tent
Dist: 0 km

Tomorrow:
Estimated landing: Pueto Supe
Estimated starting time: Right after sunrise
Estimated landing time: Well before sunset

This was a real good rest- and recovery day! No one bothering us here, and my body felt it was getting back in shape after a good night’s sleep. Still pooping liquids in the morning, but at least no need for delivering at night.

I was eating reasonably today, and the best idea I had for a peaceful rest inside the tent today was to cover the roof with our black sleeping bags and black fleece blankets against the sun! Now it was acceptable temperatures inside, despite it being quite sunny. Otherwise, we would have been melting up here, with low wind!

A huge amount of red crabs are out on the beach on the wet surge area, but once one of us is getting out of the tent, they disappear quickly into their holes in the sand. Cute! One other night, I had one of those crabs digging a deep hole right in my apsis, shoveling the sand on my shoes…

I feel I gained enough energy for just another long paddle tomorrow, and am actually looking forward to be back on the water during the day! It’s nicer than on a hot beach… but why can’t Peter and I feel jointly sick at the same time like on the first week of our trip???

Paddling through a shit soup is likely the cause of both of you picking up bugs. Sorry to hear you got poorly. If there has to be a next time, see if you can wear a face mask or something? And how appropriate that todays captcha code is MRD4, as spanish for shit is mierda, lol.

Hope you’re both feeling much better tomorrow. Its time for you to make some miles,ha.You know I love ya and don’t want you going any where until you’re up to it.I hurt my back today taking my kayak down off its rack. went paddling anyway, but it was rough, though as always, just to be out on the water was good. I’ll pay for it tonight likely but hopefully be good to go again tomorrow to enjoy my last off day before getting back to work.Safe Paddling and wishing you calm seas.

Now that you’ve both had “whatever it is,” hopefully you can continue in good health for a while. Happy paddling!
