A big thanks to Justus Hyatt, Thermarest marketing coordinator, to send me a sample of the brand new Thermarest Evolite, which will only be on the market in 2015. It had just been recently premiered and was first shown on the Outdoor show in Friedrichshafen, where it already got an Outdoor Industry award on the first show!
I have been using Thermarest mattresses ever since, and for my progressing age I was eventually spoiling myself no to go with the thinnest Pro Lite any more, but was using already the Pro Lite Plus for additional comfort.
But also I was also always looking at those new range of Neo Air lightweight mattresses when they came out, as they were thicker an much more lightweigt and had less packing volume = makes more comfort. But their dreaded crackling noise kept me away to use this one by now, as I like to camp fully silent if needed.
When I checked again to at least try one of the Neo Lites, Justus was so friendly to tell me about their brandnew Evolite, and BINGO! That’s the one I want! Double as thick s the old Pro Lie Plus, almost as thick as te Neo Air, but most important: The combination of self-inflating foam and you inflating with either your lungs, a pumpsack or a tine electrical pump makes a complete noiseless, very thick,comfortable, warm, lightweight and small packing volume piece of high-end gear.
