Day 10, Tuesday, 27.01.2009

Mick McRobb and Lyn Stephenson with their lively lovely Dachshound-puppies…sweet kind of dogs! i grew up with two Dachshounds…

Thanks to both hosting me on that first pit stop! It was useful for office work, and a relief for my sore body…

Peter Provis in Mallacoota already called on my mobile for being ready at the next pit stop – thanks for that service, VSKC! Those are well needed rests…

What I was doing all day? Busy from morning to late night, first washing all my gear, repairing here and there, packing another surplus gear parcel, answering 163 e-mails, writing few letters to sponsors with pictures (sorry guys, next pit stop!), shopping little items, and – eventually after 10 days – I got my mobile internet going kicking Telstra’s ass hard!!!!!!! Yeah!

Once in cell reception now and when there is still some energy left for office work at night, I can lie in my tent and do e-mails and blogging and skyping…as long as the batteries last.

That’s for now, good night… – Chris Cunningham will do the next day’s updates if I’m sending only Sat-phone messages. Thanks to Chris!

Well, kiddo. For us non Australians it would be nice if you could put a map up with where you are and where the pits stops are. then it’s so much easier to visualise how far you got.
Sorry that I’m not website savvy and can’t do it, but one of you guys out there????

Freya,
just a brief hello from an admirer and fellow ocean paddler from Maine and formerly Rendsburg, Germany. May you always make the right decision in tight situations. Good luck, viel Glück, and enjoy.
Reinhard

Thanks for the email, Freya….you don’t have to reply, tho’. Just want you to know that you are supported and thought of as you take on this monumental task.

I hope you are enjoying yourself and I wish you fair skies and calm seas!

Scott
