No paddling today! Blog updating, e-mailing, pre-checking Google Earth, repairs, washing, shopping…the usual chores.
The weather is a bit unsettled now after that lovely week, but I’ll paddle tomorrow across Shark Bay to Cape Peron, and then will head towads Denham to wait what the weather will be doing next week for the cliff section. Patience…
BBQ dinner last night was at a friend’s house, thanks for that, Colin and his wife!
A young man had a baby kangaroo hanging in his jacket hooked up on the wall! He found it motherless along the highway, feeds it until it’s big enough to hop off into the bush again! How cute! It felt most happy in that jacket, but was hopping around the table as well!

Freya, as you know, following you from the beginning, and quietly watching on the sidelines. Your positive outlook is wonderful and an inspiration to me…
Hope you are feeling well and keeping your weight up.
Paddle on,

Hi Freya,
I have just heard about your exploits aroung ‘Oz – in a word incredible.
I’m with the SES (State Emergency Services) in Kalbarri and we would like to offer you a rescue boat escort for the last few km’s (after your big trip past the cliffs), into Kalbarri and through the tricky river mouth.
Also, if you need it a safe ‘lock up’ for your kayak and gear at our local SES building complex for the time you will be in Kalbarri.
I am also the photographer for the Kalbarri and Geraldton newspapers (part of the West Australian group in Perth), so would appreciate a photo op and hopefully promo for you as your travel down the ‘Batavia’ coast on your next adventure leg to Perth..
Cheers

Huge crocs, manta rays, whales, shark-bites, more crocs, frightining dumpers, a new partner, huge swell and currents, headwinds and beautyfull reefs. What an adventure!
And fantastic that we can read en see how the journey goes on. A few months ago I was wondering if you would survive. Now I’m certain that you arrive alive and well in Melbourne later this year.
Thanks that we can enjoy your trip from behind our pc’s!
