Day 282, Monday, 26.10.2009

I got up early this morning to check again the surf situation down in the cove on lower wind than yesterday late afternoon. It was not much difference, just the surf seemed to be a bit lower. Still landing looked ok from the cliff top.

I got the crazy idea this Monday morning to model my new black dress for Greg, including the stiletto high heels I was wearing on my talk in Perth! He hasn’t seen it so far, and I just felt like doing some crazy things.

When I had my heels on, I jumped out of the van, but had to realize there was no show of standing solidly with the pointy heals in the soft ground! They were simply sinking in…I asked Greg to bring a piece of plywood we kept for multi purposes in the car, and it provided just enough of a solid platform for me to stand safely outside 🙂

Then I played with different styles to wear my “Ultimate Black Dress”, as advertised on the leaflet coming with my purchase. Greg quite enjoyed the view and took some pictures! He wanted me to walk to the cliff edge for some more lofty pics, but I didn’t feel like my hairdresser did a great job this morning and cancelled that idea.

We had a nice pumpkin soup out of a tin upgraded with fresh pieces of pumpkin for lunch, and left late afternoon from Toolina Cove towards back to the start of the cliffs. We simply pulled aside the road on to a clearing to spend the night.

Text message from Freya via satellite phone:

I’m prepared to do the cliffs Thursday Friday. Should be ok. No stopping at Toolina Cove, though possible
