Here’s a summary of the presentation at the Landesvertretung Schleswig-Holstein in Berlin at YouTube!
(yes, I’m talking German…)
I was very honored to be invited to talk in the state of Schleswig-Holstein embassy in the German capital Berlin.
The official host of the event, the Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Peter Harry Carstensen, was introducing the evening.
All pictures taken by Heike Muß, published on the embassy gallery. A press clip of the SHZ is uploaded here. Here’s a link to the report on the state of Schleswig-Holstein website.
The state secretary and official host of the Schleswig-Holstein embassy, Heinz Maurus. A big thanks to him and his team, especially to the main two event organizing ladies from the embassy, Eva Lichtschlag and Heike Muß. Heike was taking all the pics as well…I should have grabbed her camera and taken a shot side by side by side with the ladies! Eva’s husband Andreas Lichtschlag is an active German Salzwasserunion kayaker, and actually initiated the first contact. Thanks, Andreas!
Honorable guest of the evening: Germany’s most successful Olympian ever, with eight gold and four silver medals, legendary kayak lady Birgit Fischer. I presented her one of my massive silver kayak pendants. Welcome to the club, Birgit!
Another honorable guest slid into the audience incognito and was silently hiding in the last rows instead of taking his reserved seat first row besides Birgit Fischer: The new President of the German Canoe Federation (DKV), Thomas Konietzko. He was slipping off the lense of the official photographer – though talking for quite a while later together. We need to do a recall, Thomas! Thanks for giving me the honor to come!
My mom Annemarie (right), soon turning 85, and a friend of hers, listening attentively.
German TV sport moderator Eik Galley leading through the evening. He interviewed Birgit Fischer after my talk about her impressions. I’d be very happy to get on the water together one day, Birgit!
Talking…
black and white games
My kayak got a new sticker besides the shark bite on the stern: “Love Bite from OZ”
Maria Rosenau from the speakers agency Jutta Rubach & Partner giving me insider advises on public speaking.
All pictures by Heike Muß. Thanks very much!
