New Translation Plugin
For all my readers on this world not being too happy to read my website and blog in English only:
My webmaster (Thanks, Derrick!) installed a new translation plugin on the top right side of my page! You simply click on your language, and magically it gets translated to your selected language!
It’s powered by Google translator, and does the job as good as Google translator gets…well, it still sounds sometimes a bit funny, at least when I translate my English written stuff into German…

Rolling demo in the pool at Kanumesse
I agreed with Janek Pohle from Tahe Marine Kayaks/ Estonia to do a rolling demo in the pool at the Kanumesse. They gave me a beautiful Greelander T to use which I have heard of lots, but never paddled nor rolled before, due to my OZ buisiness last year.
The Greenlander, designed by Johan Wirsén, is probably the most sold composite Greenland style kayak on the market, with beautiful lines, solidly built for a reasonable price. It comes in different layup versions, two different volumes and three different cockpit sizes.
ACR SARLink and AquaLink PLB’s

I like to thank ACR for presenting me at Outdoor Retailer with their new SARLink View PLB. This is supposingly the most advanced PLB technologie on the market by now. They included an “OK” message and GPS location map function, which makes it most versatile for all needs.
Manhattan Circumnavigation
Nano from Argentina (Argentinian coastline), Biff Wruszek (Tierra de la Fuego 2010), Margaret Mann (Iceland 2009) and I circumnavigated Manhattan on Friday. It was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot and good winds. Just ideal conditions for a kayak tourist!
A vistit to the Epic Kayaks Headquarters in Charleston
The crew of the Epic Kayaks headquarters in Charleston, on the left office manager Vince Bechet.
Thanks for all your organizing help, Vince!
A view inside the warehouse…epic paddles, kayaks and surfskis allover.
A Kayak in a Cardboard Box
I arrived in Miami safely yesterday, and Santa Claus was delivering already my “East Coast dummy”, a virgin epic 18x sport kayak plus some paddles to compliment my epic paddle selection in a HUGE cardboard box to the backyard of my lovely host Yeraldine Ordinez. That’s a way to ship a boat! Now it’s sticker time to make it look like the original OZ boat. I’m just missing some shark bite stickers…
