Buenos Aires Tourist – Sightseeing day 2…

The joke of the day - what did Alejandro just pull out of his pants pocket? A waterproof and neatly made unsinkable pocket camera... LOL!

The second day in buenos Aires started slow – I was awake early due to my jetlag, skyped home and did some office and gear work, while Alejandro and Virginia had to go to the elections – compulsory in Argentina!

I need to shift my biorythm not only to the 5 hrs backwards-jetlag, but as well to “Argentinan rythm” – which doeas NOT look like being in the prime at 7 am as I am used to be… a small Sunday breakfast around 10.30 am with sweet pastry (yummy!) and yerba mate (not for me…), then we went to town for a long lasting lunch from 2 pm to 5 pm, like yesterday. A compulsory bottle of red wine, and  no more dinner is necessary…

Sunday Market shopping stroll

Each market in each country has it’s own flair. Here you find really artistic handrafts between Tango scenes, Quilmes relicts (Argentinan beer) and lots of “Kitsch” and trash.

But I felt today much less “culture shocked” (and tired) than yesterday, and really enjoyed the flair of Latin America! My Spanish vocabulary is slowly improving with some useful curse words, especially when Alejandro is driving… 🙂

Antique market stroll in Buenos Aires - this guy is full of anabolics, but only two inches in the center...

Alejandro picked again for the long lunch a speciality place – “La Brigada” soccer restaurant, and again it seems to be normal that in such placed Argentiniens don’t mind to queue up for 20-30 min, waiting for a table. But it was worth the waiting!

I was invited to sign the "Wall of Fame" inside "La Brigada" soccer restaurant...right besides Maradona & co 🙂

Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for rookie blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.

Traute Gross (Guenter stayed home) paddled with our group in Northern Virginia last weekend. She joined Washington Kayak Meetup Group, where I am a leader. We talked about you. She has a beautiful paddle stroke (very fluid). Traute sends her greetings. We will all be following you.
