My delicious meal - two fried eggs, tea, and fresh baked buns! Thanks, Cecilio!

What an ugly, gray, drizzly, foggy and eventually rainy and windy day! Nothing you’d like to kick a dog out of the house…not to talk about paddling. You can’t see the mountains raising on each side of my river valley Besides, the swell is still big, but is going down from around 6 meter in the morning to maybe 4 meters in the evening.

A day I could spend only in the tent, reading my e-book. This time a book about “La Légion Etrangéres”, a report from around 1900. At least *I* am here on my own wish and could leave any time…still you feel weather trapped. At least not “scenery trapped” like in Fjordland where you couldn’t walk a few meters at all.

Tomorrow and the following days is southerly wind again, which usually brings also good weather. I hope so! Three days on a beach, though with the nice hike yesterday to Cecilio’s hut, is a long time! I am sore in my calves and thighs to the max, my legs are just not used to hiking five hours on rough steep mountain paths! It’s an art to stay all day in your tent, and to change your position so much you are able to stand it – form the right to the left side, on the back, sitting, kneeing…how exciting! At least my food is a bit more exciting…I just killed my last package of marzipan…I should have bought more! I got yesterday given by Cecilio seven apples from a yummy wild tree in the mountains, plus another seven delicious German “Gravensteiner” given by Lotti in Puerto Montt, plus the twelve apple I bought myself…so no running out of “an apple a day keeps the doctor away!”

I really, really hope I’ll see a bit of clear sky tomorrow and reasonable seas! There should be enough landing bays in the next area, I hope landings will be not scary in breaking surf! The swell goes even more down to 2 meters the next days, so good progress is coming up after those three rest days! Yahoo!

Have a Pleasant Easter Day today and I hope your weather is drying up and you’ll get in some good paddling days soon. Be Safe.

We all wish you good weather now. The southwind may help you and the waves should be smooth. But allways don´t get a risk.
