Highlights: Felt much more active than the last two days
Lowlights: none really
Launch: Low surf belt
Landing: Sheltered behind reef
Pos: Pos: here
Loc: Icarai
Acc: tent
Dist: 54,3 km
Start: 5:00 End: 15:40

When you hear a loud pffffffff while you are lying nicely relaxed on your inflatable sleeping pad…you may be thinking you were hitting a fat thorn in the ground and your pad goes flat – or rather the kitesurfer next door is just pulling the plug. When you hear some ssssst…ssssst…ssssst on your tent wall behind your head, you may be thinking the neighbor’s naughty boy is having some fun with his water gun – or rather the neighbor’s dog does exactly that. And when you hear it the first time this section heavily raining four an hour between 3 and 4 am, you are feeling very cozy inside your tent, are happy about sound no. 1 turned out to be the latter, and don’t mind sound no. 2 any more.

Paddling today was relaxed on calmish water and moderate side wind, some reef breaks to negotiate at the headlands, just to make it not too boring. I felt way more energetic today than the last two days, my aging body just needs his sleep and some regular schedule… nothing exciting happened so far, the more I am turning west, the calmer the water and surf becomes. I don’t mind…two more lower wind days before it goes back to 20 knots or such…see how it is looking then going due west after Jericacoa. Maybe I have a rest day there.

For my ride back to Recife I opted now probably just to take a one way rental car with a roof rack, in this way I don’t have to bother not many people any more and paying fuel just one way is almost as much as the rent. I just have t drive myself…but I had already some practice!
