Launched amazingly dry through the shore dumper, but then my fin of the rudder was so hard stuck even my as usual attached launching rope couldn’t pull it out while I was sitting in the cockpit…means I had to jump in the water to deploy it…thank goodness for a dry suit!

Forecast this morning was not really great – nnw 15-25kn, nw 10-20 kn, afternon w-wsw 10-20 kn – but what came was 20 kn+ solid full headwinds too early…and I was going sw…

The last hour I crawled along with 2-3 km/hr, until I got fed up with the stuff and landed. My hands were much better today, and usually headwinds make me stronger and paddling harder, which I really did. Two hours of more rest and the skinny dip yesterday was noticable! But what was too much was too much…

I had today two big fish trawlers side by side, slowly pulling a net through the water…are they really trawling along with my headwind paddling speed only? Or were they instructed this time to keep an eye on me??? I felt well watched again…until I landed, then they headed off.

First I was not sure to already call it a day, but after an hour and checking the forecast again it was clear it won’t get better today – probably tomorrow, latest lunchtime the wind will turn again.

So procedure as usual…unloading, finding a sheltered spot in the dunes, which unfortunately developed not to be as sheltered now any more…maybe I have to move the tent for the night. I was already shoveling sand walls around, but it is blowing solid 25kn+ now…I’m getting really sand blasted being outside. But at least the weather is relatively warm during the day with some sunshine, though not clear sky.

Will have to look after the tent now…even already pulled the boat up to the dunes in fear of it being rolled across the beach in this wind, being almost unloaded…
