Ask me about my favorite paddling conditions – it’s not 30+ degrees air temperature, 30+ degrees water temperature and calm seas with not much to see, no animals bar a few pelicans, and just beach and bushes.

Across the last inlet the water was really HOT, easy 35-37 degrees bathtub temperature with deep green water. You don’t even want to dip your hands in while paddling. Still people had some weekend beach life in Puerto Piritu, but “only” with maybe 32 degrees water. How can one jump in there and feel refreshed? Ideal for me is 26 degrees or such. Along the last stretch of inlet, understandable there were no houses or hotels any more. Who wants to be there and be boiled either in the water or fried on the beach? I am still wondering about the earlier houses and hotel place along the first inlet and the heat and the bugs…not too inviting!

One more day, then a good rest in Barcelona. After the big city, paddling should become a bit more friendly and interesting, I hope. I need to already replace my green name stickers – the letters simply are falling off…fortunately only the green color.
