How good that feels, waking with a sore allover body, and to be able to turn around again! I had a camp under a roof against sun, a sweet water shower available, a most beautiful small crystal clear calm sandy beach with some rocks, the junglewith howler monkeys and 10000ds of swirling insects around me and even some company if I liked to. A good place for a day off!
I slept long, read, slept again, and decided now it’s time for a snorkel and swim! I found an old pair of fins and a snorkel in the boat house to use, together with my swim goggles I carried it was a make shift ABC set, but worked fine enough.

One motor boat was anchoring in the other corner.Just when I was floating among the rocks, six more of those tourist motor boats “All around Ilha Grande!” came in with high speed, dumped their guests and occupied the beach completely. A bad timing for my relaxed snorkel…I escaped the water, showered and watched the tourists for a while. Not my way of making holidays…at least their music noisy was at bay here.
I jumped in the water again early night when all besides one calm boat were gone, and I was rather fin swimming far pout and enjoyed myself just floating in my (almost) private bay!And I enjoyed the fresh water shower for bodyand hair. Without, I wouldn’t have jumped in, just happy to be salt free for a while!

I wish Freya that she may be able to enjoy those wonderfull brazilian beaches and the rest of the trip with or without people around her doing the same: enjoying life. We South Americans as Latins are quite noisy and Freya is, well, not circumnavegating Sweden but South America! haha.

Sounds like you had a very nice location and good place for a days rest.sure the shower and safely sheltered tent was much appreciated.I can never feel luckier than to have a campsite with a shower available.It is so good to wash away the sweat of the day,salt and ocean spray,or in my case,sometimes less than clean river water.You rest and sleep so much better.Safe Paddling.
