The last two days were short, slow, head wind and hard work as I should have given me already a rest day latest after 5-7 days of paddling. Today was not really better. I was once more thinking three shorter days are the same as two regular days and one full day off. I should have known that is not the case, especially if the “short”means mostly short distance due to low speed. I still have enough food and filled up water on that island, and was thinking I should have only a rest day when I need to shop for food, but I am not sure if I am not simply staying in tomorrow. I should better have done that on those headwind days…as the fore cast now and the next days is low to moderate following wind again. But you can force your body and mind only to a certain degree. We’ll see. Maybe i should have gone fishing with the guys from yesterday…:-)

Paddling today was boring, I fell quite often asleep and it was either low headwind, no wind, low following or when I landed already stronger headwind again. I made the dogleg into the unbroken river entrance of Itacaré hitting almost the lighthouse, but when I was eventually standing on top of the dunes overlooking the river bay I guessed I could have as well paddled straight behind the low breaking sandy reef to land where I am now, instead of almost getting scared of being pushed to a “rocky shore” which turned out to be just piles of sea weed. Some week end people on this sand bank across Itacaré,but basically I am alone here. Nothing exciting to see, too hot and too tired to have a long walk.
