The line up of the crew from the "NOMADS of THE SEAS", starting with the captain, Victor, for the farwell of the small group of friends of Andres.

Pos: here
Loc: across Isla Huepan
Acc: NOMADS of THE SEA
Dist: 0 km

The last breakfast with the guys, enjoying a last time the perfect service “upstairs” – tonight I’ll be joining the crew “downstairs”, as the boat is fully chartered by a group from one huge company and there is no space for a “hitchhiker” like me any more 🙂
Andres has left as well, and the boat is run by the regular crew.

When the group left the boat, the crew was lining up on the jetty for a fare well shake hands, and to thank for the tip 🙂
I spent the day in the lounge office on land being in good internet reception on wifi, and got a lot of work done. Not all though, but I was able to skype my mother, son and boyfriend, and to at least basically upload all my pics.

In the afternoon, I took a quick ride to town to be on the safe side not to run out of gas, and bought a new can. No fresh food though, I thought I will need to live on what I have for the next short leg to Puerto Montt.

Around 4 pm, the new guests were coming in, but it was not my business any more to be among them. I stayed at the office, busy typing.

A nice chat with three of the four female crew members in their lounge

The same was happening all evening, I had dinner in the crew room, and a lot of nice chats there. I will spend the night camping on the floor in the one and only 4-girl’s cabin. Quite a change to the last two nights!  But no worries, I appreciate my luck the previous days, and it’s a good training to be back in my tent next night :-)) – not that I’m getting too spoiled…

As I’m quite interested how such a huge operation like this boat is run and set up, I think to have a look on the other side as well, gives you a good insight! Maybe I should apply for a job as a kayak guide here the next season… 🙂

I’m really looking forward to be back on the water again tomorrow!

Love reading your blog daily now since reading Fearless. I’m nearing my own little ,and first kayaking adventure down the coosa and alabama river here in alabama, USA in Mid April. Its 631 miles, but unfortionately, I’ll have to break it up into a couple different weeks of 8 days or so. I’ve still got to work, would love to stay on the water instead, but so is life.Good Luck, be safe.

Hello Freya,
we know now, what you eat during your “retour-hitchhike” on the “Nomads of The Sea”. But we are also interested, what you eat during your solo-tour alongside the coast of South America. Maybe you are able to tell a bit more of your daily meals.
Best wishes from Hamburg, where the summer starts already at the end of March: Udo

Karen

Glad the universe and the generosity of others brought you rest, nutriment, shelter and a change of view. So glad The Nomades of the Sea could arrange for you to be brought back to where you left off. Awesome. Go girl.
