I forgot to write about the little earth quake the previous night – around 11 pm the earth was quite clearly vibrating for a few seconds! When I thought about kicking Peter awake, it would have been too late and he probably thought this would have been just another time me shaking him to stop him snoring 🙂

Today, we eventually received the parcel with the new  generation rudder. All good and safe now! Also, we had ordered two new (non-sponsored) GPS, as my current one became eventually too corroded poles and my spare one didn’t like to start at all, despite being almost new…we had to live with only Peter’s GPS for the last few days. Not that I can’t paddle and find my way without, but it is so nice to watch the numbers counting down and to see your track!

A few “fans” were sneaking around the tent today for pictures and signature cards. I didn’t even had much of an idea who they were and how they got to know about me? We had no press the last days and they were in no way kayakers…

But all in all, after the new rudders were installed, the GPS set, and fresh water filled up, we would have been ready to go, but the wind was again around 20 knots with not inviting surf. We’ll leave tomorrow as planned, and will arrive in Iquique five days later!
