Highlights: All necessary help and office needs provided!
Lowlights: Can’t say…
Loc: Regencia
Acc: Posada

Eventually I managed to upload my pictures since Salvador and to update the last four days where I was only able to send a satellite message. Please go and have a read and look!

Bert took me this morning to the office of the Projeto Tamar, an eco-organization caring and protecting the sea turtles which has it’s center based in Regencia where the majority of the sea turtles in Brazil are nesting. They could provide me fast internet, a borrowed laptop and an air conditioned place to work. Thanks very much! There are probably not that many places with those conditions to be found in the 1000-people village of Regencia.

Honestly, my first goal was to promote once more my voting for the World Paddle Award, as the public voting closes on Sunday 18th. I had some hours to do this job on my stay around Salvador, and those few hours now, overall not really much time to do my “homework” at all being on the water and on the beach all those other days with very limited internet access. For that short time, I am really overwhelmed about the response and help of all my (face book) friends, family, supporters, sponsors and followers! So many votes! Thank you all very much for having voted for me!

The second job was as usual to check and update my blog and website, edit and upload pictures, looking ahead with downloading the new sat images, fixing landing spots, answering emails and surely skyping my family at home.

The friendly people from the Projeto Tamar were showing me in between their small amazing t-shirt factory where they employ only local people and finance part of their project. They also maintain an eco-museum to educate the children. Allover it is a very impressive initiative!

Felipe with his friend Eduardo and their wives came over at night to bring already my freshly repaired laptop and freshly washed laundry. What a service! Muito obrigado! My laundry smelled like flowers again, and the laptop “only”had some moisture on the motherboard which a helpful guy was able to repair for me for free. Thanks to “Linhares online” and to Felipe and his wife to help me with all those matters!

We had a nice dinner together at a local restaurant, shrimps in a yummy sauce, thanks for inviting me! It was no problem for me to move at night to another posada, as the first one got some “real” guests. Tired as usual, I fell asleep late.
