A visit to the German embassy

Pos: here
Loc: Chaguarama/ Trinidad
Acc: Michel and Nevine’s house

Today alloy was my “taxi driver” – thanks! I first visited the German Embassy and had a nice chat with ambassador Stefan Schlüter, Ulrich Kinne and Claudia Tietze. Getting inside the embassy is almost like entering another country, with security check and no electronics to be taken in. We decided on a small press conference tomorrow at 4 pm at the kayak center. As I was already in the “diplomatic quarter”, I also wanted to apply for my Suriname visa, but they had some holiday and closed. So tomorrow…

My pleasure of the day was a visit to the hairdresser to cover my gray hair and to make me ten years younger again :-). Thanks to Jenny and Ricky “sponsoring” a free visit at the salon where their daughter Melanie was doing a great job on me. ready to tackle another leg of my trip then! Some food shopping and – packing from a well stocked supermarket finished the chores for today.

Another pleasure was some listening to a local steel band at night, which Glenn was organizing. As he is very much into the local music, I appreciated the chance to see a bunch of young people playing a really great sound on instruments made out of oil drums. Amazing! If I wouldn’t have been that tired already at night… it was way after my sleeping time at the beach at darkness…

I hope you enjoy your stay a Pointe a Pierre yacht club and feel free to return anytime to visit trinidad for a vacation. I really admire your will to accomplish your goals in life, it takes someone with courage and will power to endure a voyage in seeing the world single handedly in a canoe.I can only imagine the photogenic pictures that your brain has collected thus far.

Apparently she only taped it up with some super tape. Hope it holds up for you Freya. I think I would have found the sail repair shop but Im sure you must trust your tape.Sure it will all work out well.Glad you got to go to the free hairdresser but youre not any the less prettier with a little gray around the edges. Youve earned it and life has been good. The gray shows your years of expierience not your getting old.At lesst I tell myself that. Take care.Enjoy.

Right on Freya!
Sounds like a good day.
Fall is setting in here in Ontario. The fall colours north of us have reached their peak. Winds are changing. Cooler temperature are coming.
What is the status of your tent?
