I felt like I was paddling today from noisy beach spot to noisy beach spot. It is holidays, and obviously all plastic chairs and umbrellas on Brazilian beaches are unpacked and put up, plus all loud speakers turned on with the basses on the loudest. This is at least what I hear only on the water…wummm…wummm…wummm…let’s have a party tonight! I’m working…

I was planning to paddle at least to the first wide river mouth, but as the surf is all day looking low, my planned 50 km are reached and the last village with the base drums far behind me, I couldn’t refuse to go in and to get rest.Maybe I’m getting old not to paddle more than 50 km.But if I had to due to non existing or bad landing…NO PROBLEM! 🙂

Things were somehow a bit entertaining to watch today, first the crossing to the Ilheus harbor breakwater with many eraly morning fishing boats in the morning due, then some cliffs with beaches, reefs and rocks. Nothing too exciting, but no complaints about easy conditions here! It is just like those days are all quite similar now, low to easy following winds, beaches, villages, more beaches, more villages. It is now about endurance, keeping on the pace, and keep on going.Well, it could be worse for the last months…:-)

On landing, I unfortunately picked an area where a sandy track hits the beach, and since I am camping there three vehicles got stuck driving in or out. I was not in the mood to help pushing, rather to block this entrance with some branches and a sign: “Cerrado por la fin de anno 2014!” Hope they won’t drive in and out all night!

I had my truffel chocolate already saved for my early New Years Eve pasta dinner, but besides that there is not much to celebrate besides I am making good progress!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody!

On Pixabay you will find both, terrific photos and cliparts. It’s possible to even download whole size images without registration.

Frank
