Tomorrow:
Estimated landing: Caleta Pajonal
Estimated starting time: Right after sunrise
Estimated landing time: Well before sunset

Not many events today…an easy launch from our shallow beach into a drizzly gray morning. The swell was next to nothing, and the wind very low all day. Beginner’s conditions. It’s said that Huasco marked kind of a border line to the big swell days south – we’ll see…the next days are looking low to moderate also.

One headland, aptly named “Punta Lobos”, had a lovely seal colony, where we were floating around for a while. A few fishing boats were around, doing their diving fishing job. One guy in a wetsuit proudly showed a catch of fish on what looked like a spear, maybe they even do spear fishing while diving.

The visibility got better over the day. But basically, it was business as usual! But the snacks during the day are getting boring, and we could have landed on many, many beaches.

What to write? We actually could have a day off on the beach before we’ll arrive in Caldera for more city chores and where we’ll have minimum one day off also.

Tonight we are camped on a very sheltered city beach right on the river bar. A Land Rover with four potential long distance travellers to Mexico on their fourth day of the trip was just heading off from our intended beach corner. They gave us four oranges. Thanks, very much appreciated!

The local visiting “Maritime Authority” here was represented the first time by an efficiently solo working *lady*. But still the same old questions…amazing how she showed up instantly after we were landing. Spy’s eyes everywhere… 🙂

We are getting lulled into sleep now by the noisy music of the restaurant across the bay. Maybe they like to attract with the noise us one and only tourists here…
