Hi Freya.
I missed your visit to Rochester. Are you planning a visit somewhere in the vicinity, Syracuse, Buffalo or Toronto?
I really admire what you have done around Australia.
Are you planning a book?
All the best.

Hi Freya, Caught your talk in Rochester, it was FABULOUS! I have one word to describe you after hearing you talk and seeing your slides…
GRIT! It’s a compliment, meaning you have what it takes to stare down all your fears, challenges and the unknowns thrown at you. You’re an amazing role model, I hope you get a chance to spread the word to school girls as well…
I can relate to only a tiny portion of what you encountered. I did a solo trip of 6 weeks and 450 miles but a few small ‘inconveniences’ plagued me as well. But NO ONE has encountered what you did when crossing the Carpentaria…sure others may have done it but not in the middle of a one-year long paddle!
You’re amazing and a true inspiration. Seeing your energy has gotten me off my butt and I’m suddenly seized with a great desire to get out and paddle all the way around Lake Champlain or Georgian Bay (off Lake Huron). I’ll be 61 in October, time to get another trip under my belt.
The only open water sea kayaking I get to do is in our winters when I’m working as a kayak guide in Antarctica. Working with Graham Charles (one of the 3 blokes who paddled not only the Antarctic Peninsula but also South Georgia) has been an inspiration as well.
I wish you well on wherever your next journey takes you.
Your tremendous success on circumnavigating Australia is one for the history books and will live on in me memory forever.
Such a pleasure to meet and hear you.
All the very best!
Louise
