One thing for today – deadly hot with almost no wind and sun all day, no refreshing 30degrees water, deadly tiring, deadly slow, deadly boring. Not much to see than distant mountains, as hugging the coast would have been a huge detour. So I cut as usual straight across, hitting only one single headland, seeing few ships,no animals besides a few jelly fish.

But I had marked a small remote beach on my GPS map. Only that it was right open to the quite existing swell and basic wind direction. What would it be like? I couldn’t see any beach until 2,5 km before, so it can’t be steep at least.Would the swell be already broken by whatever? I came closer, and saw and heard surf, splashing surf, foamy surf.It must be a very shallow sandy flat beach from a small river. Does it make sense to give it a try? No one around,no houses, just two fisher men on the rocks about 500 m before. Additionally, I could barely see something as the sun was just straight in my face. I sat in a safe distance fora while, carefully came closer, just don’t get caught! When I was sure there were no rocks in the middle and the beach wide enough between the cliffs, and the surf had a reasonable size, I gave it a go and made it easy in.

The alternative would have been some other beaches on the next headland spit, probably way more sheltered, but probably having houses. I preferred a bit effort on landing and probably on launching also, but no one around! And I really paddled enough for today. I didn’t get a fore cast for tomorrow, let’s hope there will be not suddenly a sea over 2 m or such 🙂 – unlikely.

The flat sandy campsite was in the shade, great! And I could have a full body soak in a small cool fresh water river. Good for my needles and pins rash I have again on my shoulders from today’s burning heat! When the heck is this continent getting colder again? Tomorrow I will stay again with friends on Ilha Bela, hopefully with an a/c room…
