Ahhhh, having a good sleep in, when the regular wake up time at 4 am still shows a stiff and not enough relaxed body, feels like a luxury. A bit of rain on the dead calm morning makes the cozy tent feeling perfect-until the sun comes out with still no wind and your tent is sitting on the open beach. This makes me crawling out quite quickly to put up my sleeping bag as an additional shade from outside. I got the idea of having a naked early morning swim to wash my hair, just in time ready when the first morning walkers came along. I had enough fresh water now to have a good rinse even for the hair, and the next days are saved! Men have it much easier on an expedition like this to have a quick full dip in the sea, not to bother with salty wet long hair all the time…

The next three hours inside the tent were a bit hot, but I was relaxed reading, fell asleep again, until a bit of wind came up around 11 am and made camp life on the beach a bit more bearable.I had a walk up and down, exposing even some bare shoulders and surely got close to a sun burn. An ultra light plane was taking tourist fora ride over the beach, simply starting and landing on the latter.Not sure if they would allow this in Europe…but he had to stop his job when high tide came. I was almost close to ask how much a ride was…where as the in the afternoon again active para gliders from the high cliffs didn’t catch my attention too much, it is too similar to my old job being a tandem pilot myself on skydiving. Hanging on a chute as a passenger in the thermal wind with many vultures swirling around them would make me probably sea sick quite easy 🙂

I dared to leave my tent and kayak alone here for a while walking to the next beach restaurant to have a late afternoon lunch/ dinner, but as usual on those places they are over expensive and not the best food. At least it had music in a civilized loudness.I felt also quite out of place, having suddenly changed the sides of view, and being alone in such place does not make it better if you are not the greatest communicator. But it “saved” me a dinner out of my relative empty food bag by paying probably for one meal the value of the whole full bag. Not really necessary to do this too often!

It is always good to get that clean hair feeling.I usually have mine rather long as well in the summer when I do my river trips, and really do appreciate finally getting to wash the hair.washing the body in the river is good but clean rinsed hair is great.I know how you feel on leaving all you have in the world,at the moment to go exploring around. Its really quite scary, sometimes. You want to but you fear coming back to nothing.too bad to have to have that fear.
